Chelsea academy graduate Mason Mount is lighting up the Premier League this season and has scored two goals in just three games already.
Mount scored his second goal for Chelsea in the 3-2 win over Norwich on Saturday.
Despite being an important player in the first team this season, Mount hasn’t forgotten his roots in the Chelsea academy.
Revealing the brilliant thing Mount did for Chelsea academy players, Adrian Kajumba wrote in Daily Mail: “Not too long ago, a small group of Chelsea youth team players were sitting down for some food in a cafe.
“When they got up to pay they were surprised, and no doubt a little confused, to be told they didn’t have to because their bill had already been taken care of.
“They didn’t know at the time but it was rising Chelsea star Mason Mount who picked up the tab.
“Earlier he had passed the eatery, spotted the academy prospects tucking in and without any fanfare or fuss let the restaurant know their meal was on him.
“Mount did not put his hand in his pocket to be flash or for any praise.
“Those Blues youngsters might not have found out who the mystery buyer of their lunch was until today.
“He did it because he was one of them a few years ago, a little Chelsea kid with big dreams and he has not forgotten his roots or those days when, even as a Premier League academy hopeful, every little helps.
“And he did it because he does not consider doing a nice turn for those he has left behind now beyond him.”
