Kurt Zouma had a poor game as Manchester United beat Chelsea 4-0 in our opening game of the season.
Chelsea were on top of the game until Zouma made a costly mistake which the Blues never recovered from.
Chelsea were the better side before Zouma clumsily brought down Marcus Rashford in the box, with the England international picking himself up to smash the penalty home.
Former Chelsea assistant boss Gianfranco Zola was unimpressed with Zouma’s performance and has advised Frank Lampard to drop the 24-year-old for Antonio Rudiger, revealing that Zouma can’t pass out from the back.
Asked if Zouma will drop to the bench when Rudiger becomes available, Zola told beIN Sports: “Certainly Rudiger has got more experience.
“I think he has a better understanding with Christensen.
“I believe if they want to play out from the back, Rudiger and Christensen will be more suitable.”
Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was unimpressed with the performance of Zouma.
Mourinho admitted he would be frustrated with Zouma.
“I would be very frustrated with Zouma,” Mourinho said.
“Because you analyse opponents and that is one basic thing when you play against Marcus Rashford.
“In that position he always goes to the inside.
“He always goes to look for his favoured foot, for his favourite position and his favourite shot.
“He loves the shot, in curve, from that position there.
“So [when] you are in the box, you just have to close the inside and you don’t need to put your leg in.”
