Chelsea youngster Mason Mount featured in the latter stages of the Euro 2020 qualifying clash against Kosovo, as the Three Lions won the game 5-3.
Ross Barkley was replaced by Mount in the 82nd minute, and the younger of our two England internationals was welcomed to the game by a terrible tackle that probably warranted more than a yellow card.
Mount was making his second England cap in what was a very entertaining but yet physical contest at the St Mary’s Stadium. There were also five yellow cards awarded during the game, although one of them could have easily been a red.
Mount took the ball down the left hand side of the pitch, and after he had laid on a pass to his teammate, a late tackle came in on the young midfielder. The tackle warranted more than a yellow card, but thankfully Mount was okay to continue as England made it four wins out of four in Euro 2020 qualifying,
The sight of Mount on the floor following the tackle would have been a worry for Blues’ fans, but luckily, Mount escaped any form of injury.
