Chelsea are currently ahead of London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League table as Chelsea lie in sixth place and Arsenal seventh. Both teams are level on points, but the Blues have scored more goals than their rivals.
Arsenal would have been ahead of Chelsea had they won their game against Watford, but the Gunners could only get a draw in that game after David Luiz conceded a late penalty that evened the scoreline.
Arsenal ended the first half 2-0 up courtesy of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s brace but former Chelsea defender David Luiz, who sealed a transfer deadline move to the Gunners, aided in ensuring that Arsenal dropped points.
The Brazilian’s defensive partnership with Sokratis Papastathopoulos was awful in the game and they had already committed a silly mistake to pass the ball inside their own penalty box to Gerard Deulofeu who teed up Tom Cleverley to make it 2-1.
Late in the game, Luiz knocked down Roberto Pereira in the box as the Hornets then scored an equaliser.
This is the second time Luiz has conceded a penalty for Arsenal, and some Blues fans have taken to twitter to mock Arsenal who signed a former fan favourite.
