Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is yet to play a game for Chelsea this season as the German has been out injured since April.
Chelsea have definitely missed his no-nonsense attitude in defence, with the Blues yet to keep a clean sheet this season and have already conceded 9 goals, the second worst defending in the Premier League after four games this season.
Rudiger has been boosting his fitness and sharpness by playing with the Chelsea development squad since his return from injury and has only been on the bench.
Rudiger is now fit to play for the first team, and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has given a slight hint that the rugged German defender might start this time against Wolves at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday.
“Rudiger is fit to play,” Lampard said in his press conference ahead of Wolves clash.
“He’s been very important for the club and the team since he’s been here with his personality, character and quality and we’ve missed him.
“Everyone talks about how young we are and how young we’re becoming so we need leaders within that and Rudiger needs to take on the responsibility of being a leader for us.”
Chelsea fans are excited to have Rudiger back and they can’t wait for him to shore up the team’s defence.
