Kepa Arrizabalaga was the hero of the night as Spain defeated Romania 2-1 in an international fixture.
The 24-year-old got the nod ahead of David De Gea for this game and pulled off a stunning save late on to ensure 10-man La Roja beat Romania in their Euro 2020 qualifier.
Kepa has started Spain’s last four competitive games due to his fine form for club and country, while De Gea has been struggling since last season for club and even at the World Cup and was again at fault for Patrick van Aahnholt’s winning goal last month as Crystal Palace recorded their first win at Old Trafford since 1989.
Kepa produced a stunning late save to earn Spain a crucial Euro 2020 qualifying victory over Romania on Thursday night, and Chelsea fans have hailed the Blues shotstopper over the Manchester United number one.
Kepa was asked about his rivalry with De Gea and how the Manchester United goalkeeper is reacting to it, but he revealed that the atmosphere is calm.
“Whoever plays is the coach’s decision, we always train with three goalkeepers and the atmosphere is very good,” said the Blues number one.
