Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has missed out on Premier League Player of the Month award for August.

The 21-year-old started the season slowly, but was in fine form in the last two games of August and has now scored four league goals already.

Abraham banged a brace as his first goals for Chelsea to help the Blues to a 3-2 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road. He followed it up with another brace in the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United.

Abraham failed to make the final shortlist for the best player award for the month Of August despite the four goals he has scored.

Manchester City’s trio of Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero were in the shortlist for August’s best players along with Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino, Burnley’s Ashley Barnes and Norwich City’s Teemu Pukki, as they are all in contention for the individual prize.

Abraham was in good form last season as he bagged 26 Championship goals last season while on loan at Aston Villa to help the Claret and gain promotion to the English top-flight.

Abraham will hope to continue his form as Chelsea will try to beat giant killers Wolverhampton Wanderers after the international break at the Molineux Stadium on September 14.
