Chelsea are ten points behind leaders Liverpool but Chelsea fans are optimistic about the future with Frank Lampard’s young and vibrant team providing enough encouragement.

Lampard promised to build a team that attacks with intensity after he became Chelsea boss, so how have the team progressed under our legend?

Only Liverpool and Manchester City have scored more goals this season. The Blues have scored 14 goals already in the Premier League.

According to Sky Sports, the Blues have 120 shots on goal (second in the league), 43 shots on target (second in the league), and are also ranked second in chances created from open play. Only Manchester City score higher for expected goals, which is to say that the opportunities are high on quality as well as quantity.

Chelsea have completed more dribbles (87) than any other side in the Premier League.

The 2-0 victory over Brighton on Saturday was Chelsea’s first clean sheet this season and if the Blues can sort our defensive problems, we would definitely be a force in the Premier League.
