Even though the Blues lost 1-0 to Valencia on Tuesday night, two Chelsea players impressed.

According to The Sun, Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori and Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic were Chelsea’s best players against Valencia.

Both players received a rating of 7.

On Tomori, the Sun wrote: “Great recovery runs when he was caught out by his inexperience. Settling in to the side incredibly quickly and with impressive ease. His header triggered the VAR rumpus that led to a penalty.”

On Kovacic: “Still yet to score a goal but some of his passing was slide-rule perfect. Another figure enjoying a good second season under a new manager at Chelsea. Great eye to set up his forwards.”
