Frank Lampard has made an inconsistent start to the season as Chelsea boss, guiding the Blues to just two wins in seven competitive games.
The Blues are also yet to keep a clean sheet this season, conceding 14 goals in seven competitive games.
Despite an unremarkable start, former Chelsea right-back Glenn Johnson believes Lampard is the right man for the job.
Johnson believes Lampard will do well over the long-term.
Johnson told Daily Star: “Whoever Chelsea employed this time round, they would have had to give plenty of time and patience to.
“So the fact that they could do it for Lamps and he’s got time to find his feet, it’s actually the right time.
“I think he’ll do really well, they’d much rather be higher up in the league right now.
“But I believe he’ll do really well over the long-term.
“He’s definitely the right man for the job.”
