Since the 2-2 draw against Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge, Christian Pulisic is yet to feature in a Premier League game for Chelsea.

Pulisic has featured just once in Chelsea’s last five games in all competitions, the 7-1 win over Grimsby in the Carabao Cup.

The American international recently admitted he was frustrated with his lack of game time under Frank Lampard.

Lampard is beginning to figure his strongest XI and Pulisic at the moment isn’t in that XI.

This is what Pulisic must do to become a Chelsea regular:

1. Work hard in training

Lampard is known to reward players who work hard in training with game time and if Pulisic is keen on returning to the starting XI, he must work even harder in training to convince Lampard.

2. Pulisic must improve his workrate

Lampard wants his team to defend from the front by pressing high up the pitch and he demands a high work ethic from his forward players. Pedro and Willian started on the wings against Brighton and both players are known to be workaholics. Against Brighton, no Chelsea player won more tackles than Willian. Pulisic must not just match the work rate of Willian and Pedro, but be better.

3. Take his chance

With Pulisic now out of the starting XI at Chelsea at the moment, he needs to take his chance when he gets an opportunity to play. Against Grimsby in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday, Pulisic could have done better.

4. He must be patient

Pulisic recently admitted he was getting frustrated over his lack of game time but the American international needs to be patient. Not every player adjusts quickly to the pace of the Premier League. The likes of Fabinho, Bernardo Silva and Heung-min Son all took time to adjust and are important players for their various teams today.
