Hudson-Odoi signed a new five-year deal worth up to £180,000-a-week on Thursday and is almost fit to return to the first team after an Achilles injury.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has warned the 18 year old that he must earn his place in the first team following his return from injury and his new contract with the club.
“He’s got everything in front of him,” said Lampard.
“We know the talent he has. He’s shown it on occasions in the first team when he’s had his opportunity.
“I think there is a lot more. It’s pure hard work that will get him there.
“Hopefully Callum can look at the other younger players around him getting their opportunities.
“They’re not being handed to them on a plate but because they’ve earned them, because they’ve worked so hard in pre-season.
“It’s a nice thing for him to see Tammy and Mason and Fikayo and something that he can be hungry for.
“Now that it is signed and sealed we can put that to bed and get to work.”
