Chelsea boss Frank Lampard believes the Blues have what it takes to make it out of the group stages of the Champions League and into the knockout phase.
The Blues are in Group H alongside Valencia, Ajax and Lille.
Lampard admits he is aware of the dangers in Chelsea’s group but insists he is confident Chelsea can go through to the knockout phase.
“I think the target is to qualify from the group,” Lampard said, ahead of the Chelsea’s Champions League game against Valencia.
“It is a tough group but I have enough belief in the players who have been here and played in it, as well as the younger players, who at the moment are in good form and have the talent.
“Hopefully they will blossom in the Champions League as we go along. As a player, I thought the same that there is two parts.
“The group part pre-Christmas and I have belief we can get through but we have to be aware it will be tough. Once you get through, if you get through, then it is up for grabs in the next part of the year.
“I am confident as we should be but very aware of the dangers in a tough group.”
