After four league games, Chelsea are 11th on the table, and the Blues have only recorded one win this season, with the three other games ending in two draws and a defeat.
It hasn’t been all gloom for Frank Lampard’s side, as there’s so much excitement about the squad and the attacking intent of the Blues only need a strong backline to make things work.
Already, the Blues have already conceded nine goals this season, which is a far cry from a traditional Chelsea side that’s first built on a defence first approach.
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has analysed the Chelsea team and has called for patience with the side. Neville believes that the Chelsea squad is lacking experience but assures that it’ll come with time.
Neville said: “Like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United, I think the same for Frank Lampard at Chelsea.
“We are seeing Lampard try to change what has been a machine for the last 15 years at Chelsea.
“They’ve been a physical machine that’s had that experience.
“You’ve always looked at Chelsea and thought they know their way around the pitch. They are wise, they are mature.
“You look at this team now and it has less experience. It has less know how and it has more youth and immaturity about it.
“With that comes more mistakes and some bad results.”
