Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been given a fresh injury concern after Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri was forced off after just seven minutes of Italy’s match with Finland.

Emerson is Lampard’s first choice at left-back and the Italian international has started all four of Chelsea’s Premier League games this season.

There’s no news yet on how long Emerson would out but Chelsea’s next game against Wolves might come too early for the Italian international.

Marcos Alonso, who is yet to start a game for Chelsea this season, could come into contention to feature against Wolves at Molineux next weekend.

Emerson recently reflected on his strong form for club and country which has seen him become first choice at Chelsea and Italy.

“I think it’s the best period of my career,” Emerson said. “I’m very happy at Chelsea, just as I was last season, but obviously a player is always happier when he plays regularly.”
