Despite having 17 shots on goal in the first half against Brighton on Saturday, the Blues failed to find the back of the net. It was our highest total in the opening 45 minutes of a Premier League game without scoring since November 2010.
Two second half goals from Jorginho and Willian helped Chelsea beat Brighton 2-0.
Ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Lille, Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has urged his Chelsea teammates to be more ruthless in front of goal if we want to get a result in Lille.
“It is important because we needed to create a lot [to score against Brighton], but I think we need to be better because we can’t create how we did and score just two goals,” Jorginho told Standard Sport.
“These [Champions League] games, you can’t make a mistake because every team is very good.
“They [opponents] can create just one chance and can score.
“So we need to be more strong with our mentality to defend.”
