Chelsea secured our first home win of the season after pulling off a 2-0 victory over Brighton at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues were too much for the Seagulls at the Bridge and showed the difference in class between the two sides.
The scoreline could easily have been very high, and for all of Chelsea’s play, Jorginho opened the scoring from the penalty spot to put Chelsea ahead on the 50 minute mark after Adam Webster fouled Mason Mount.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has revealed that the team’s inability to convert the chances created was his only down point in the game.
“Kepa [Arrizabalaga] is smiling in there which is great news. It’s good for all of us, it’s good for the confidence of the group, the clean sheet, without a doubt,” Lampard told Chelsea TV.
“However much I answer that question and say they don’t matter and only winning matters, we know we want them and it makes everyone much more comfortable.
“That’s the big plus and the performance is a plus. I though thought we played well.
“The only negative is those two or three more goals that we probably could have got because that would have settled the whole stadium.
“Because hadn’t won here yet and we’re not keeping clean sheets there was some nervy moments.”
