Chelsea beat Grimsby 7-1 on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard made ten changes to the starting XI against Grimsby with the boss giving debuts to several Chelsea youngsters.

Max Winters of Daily Mail believes there’s more to come from Chelsea’s academy after the youngsters impressed against Grimsby.

“Much has been made in the early stages of the season about Frank Lampard’s willingness to hand opportunities to Chelsea’s young players,” Max Winters wrote on Daily Mail.

“Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori have all benefited.

“However, we saw on Wednesday night that the best may be yet to come from Chelsea’s academy as another three players were handed a first-team chance.

“Reece James shone at right back, Billy Gilmour was comfortable in central midfield and Marc Guehi delivered an assured display in the heart of defence.”
