Chelsea legend Branislav Ivanovic made close to 400 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, including more than 250 in the Premier League.
Ivanovic was a favourite at Chelsea as he won three Premier League titles and the Champions League as well as the Europa League among numerous other honours in a nine-year spell in west London.
Chelsea signed Ivanovic in January 2008 for a fee believed to be around £8m, and the Serbian blossomed as a right-back and a centre-back and went on to become one of the best in the Premier League.
Ivanovic announced himself with a powerful headed brace in the Champions League against Liverpool and won the heart of Chelsea fans with consistent performance during his time at the club.
Former Blues boss Jose Mourinho hailed him as one of the club’s best ever signings – a compliment he took with pleasure.
“When the greatest manager in Chelsea history, and one of the best managers ever, says that, it means a lot,” Ivanovic said.
“I’m lucky I had the opportunity to work with him.
“Chelsea was the best part of my career and a massive part of my life. I was so happy in London and am proud to have been there for such a long time.”
