Chelsea’s academy have a number of buzzing youngsters coming through, and Blues boss Frank Lampard is willing to give the youngsters a chance to impress.
However, it’s not only the Chelsea manager who’s appreciating the young players at his disposal, as a report by Don Balon, the TeamTalk website indicates Real Madrid are also keeping a close eye on one of Chelsea’s highly-rated products.
Lampard’s protégé Mason Mount has even been dubbed by the Spanish sports publication as the ‘new Jadon Sancho’.
Mount has had a fine start to his Chelsea career after an impressive loan spell with Derby County last season, and the report suggests Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is keeping an eye on Mount and the Spanish club has sent their scouts to monitor his progress.
“Florentino Perez in typically Real Madrid fashion, could be set to splash the cash once more as he has set his sights on securing the signature of Mason Mount,” states TeamTalk.
“The report claims that Real Madrid have ‘sent several of [their] scouts to follow closely the developments in Mason Mount.
The report also admitted that Mount recently signed a new five-year deal at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea along with Lampard would be expected to be resolute in their efforts to keep the England international in south-west London.
Mount is already a regular feature in the Chelsea first team and has impressed with three goals so far.
