The Euro 2020 competition will take centre stage next summer, and a number of Chelsea players will feature for their respective countries in that competition.
A huge number of Chelsea players were away to represent their countries during the international break, and while there were mixed fortunes for some, some Chelsea players are already getting their sights on the tournament holding next summer.
England made it four wins out of four in Euro 2020 qualifying after defeating Kosovo 5-3, moving four points clear of Kosovo in the process. They are three points ahead of Czech Republic and will qualify with victory in Prague next month. Ross Barkley and Mason Mount featured in this clash as the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be hoping to make the main tournament upon their arrival from injury, as well as Tammy Abraham who is starting to bang in the goals.
Olivier Giroud played 72 minutes as France beat Andorra 3-0 to move a step closer to the tournament proper. Kurt Zouma was an unused sub as France moved three points clear of Iceland, who were surprisingly beaten 4-2 in Albania. They remain tied with Turkey at the top of Group H.
Kepa Arrizabalaga’s Spain have won all their games and top Group F with 18 points. Michy Batshuayi’s Belgium have stood out in Group I and have won all of their games so far.
Emerson Palmieri’s Italy top Group J and have won all six of their games.
