Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has preferred Tammy Abraham to Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud to lead Chelsea’s attack this season.
After a difficult start to the season, Abraham has now scored four goals in his last two games for Chelsea.
According to The Sun, Abraham is staying late after training to consolidate his place as Chelsea’s main striker ahead of rival Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi.
The report claims Abraham is doing extra work in training to make sure he is the best Chelsea striker he can. He is reportedly doing extra trainings to improve his holdup play and long-range shooting.
Speaking after his brace against Sheffield United, Abraham said: “I just looked around the stadium and said ‘wow’. I couldn’t believe it.
“Chelsea fans are amazing. They have always supported me. From a young kid growing up they have always pushed me to get into the first team, and now I am here they have backed me ever since.
“Hopefully now we can start getting some wins for them.”
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was impressed with Abraham’s performanc against Sheffield and he admitted he’s working on improving the striker.
Lampard said: “I’m delighted with Tammy. He has a really great attitude in training, a desire to score goals and his all-round game was really good as well.
“Myself and the staff are working closely with him on little bits of his game where I think he can be even better and he’s been very receptive to that.”
