Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham was snubbed by England boss Gareth Southgate in favour of Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford and Callum Wilson for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo.
The 21 year old striker got over his England snub by jetting to Barcelona with his girlfriend Leah Monroe, according to The Sun.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard granted Abraham and other Chelsea players, who weren’t called up by their national teams, time off.
It has been claimed that Abraham is considering a switch to Nigeria on the international scene.
The Nigerian Football Federation boss recently admitted he has held talks with Abraham about playing for Nigeria.
NFF President Melvin Amaju Pinnick said: “We will not relent in our quest for good players to play for the country and win laurels. We will keep talking to good players of Nigeria descent to play for their fatherland.
“But like you know, these kids are very independent minded. In fact, we have been told to wait until April 2020, when he hopes to make a final decision on the matter.
“I told him that he stood a better chance of playing regularly for Nigeria than with England, which has a galaxy of strikers of the English stock.”
England boss Gareth Southgate insists Abraham is close to getting a place in future England squads.
Southagte said: “Tammy is one of a number of players who have either started the season well or we know well from our junior teams.
“This squad can look different over the next months.”
