Frank Lampard was appointed as Chelsea manager in July, and the Chelsea legend inherited an old squad that needed revamping but was rather faced with a transfer ban and no other way to strengthen his side.

Lampard had to look inward and bring in some academy graduates who have been so impressive this season. Chelsea didn’t have to sign any player (apart from Mateo Kovacic whose clause was triggered to stay at the club and Christian Pulisic who was signed in January) but the Blues have a large squad thanks to the emergence of the Chelsea youngsters who have held their own in the first team.

Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Callum Hudson-Odoi will play key roles in the first team and their introduction has seen some senior players relegated to the bench, while Reece James will be an understudy to captain Cesar Azpilicueta.

At the end of last season, Chelsea had to keep all their players due to the transfer ban, as only Eden Hazard was sold by the club.

In the Chelsea first team, the Blues have a number of players whose contract will run out at the end of the season.

The list of players include: 38-year-old veteran goalkeeper Willy Caballero, 32-year-old Pedro, 31-year-old Willian, 33-year-old Olivier Giroud and 26-year-old Marco van Ginkel who has been suffering injury problems and is still recovering from his latest injury.

Of all players mentioned, only Willian is in touch over a contract renewal. Who do you want the club to keep and let go of at the end of the season?

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
