Chelsea’s next game is an away trip to Ajax in the Champions League group H tie.
The Dutch side currently top the group that also includes Valencia and Ajax and have won their opening two group games, while Chelsea are third in the standings although level on points with Valencia.
Ajax are potentially the toughest side for Chelsea in the Champions League group stage and Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham believes that the two sides have similarities.
The Dutch side are known to use youth from their very successful academy and Abraham also noticed a similar playing pattern.
“We know it’s a massive game for us,” Abraham told reporters after Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Newcastle at Stamford Bridge. “Ajax are like us, with a lot of young players that like to keep the ball and play good football.
“Off the ball as well they like to win it back quickly. It’s not going to be easy but I believe in myself and my team. Hopefully, we can get a result there.”
Chelsea are in good form at the moment and the Blues have won five games in a row, and Frank Lampard will be aiming for a sixth consecutive victory when the Chelsea squad go away to the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
