It’s only normal that players and teams perform better when they are at home than away from home, but that isn’t the same for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley.

Barkley was on song as he scored an away brace in England’s 6-0 win over Bulgaria.

While Barkley is yet to score at home for the Three Lions, he has scored six goals away from home for England and even tops his peers.

Barkley was on fire for England in their 6-0 win against Bulgaria as he scored a brace and got an assist in the game.

Barkley shut the mouths of critics with his performance and was one of the best players in the pitch.

Barkley will now try to win back his place in the Chelsea team ahead of Mason Mount who’s currently ahead of him in the Chelsea first team.

Barkley had admitted Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was one of his idols while growing up.

“As a young lad I would watch Match of the Day on a Sunday morning and then go off to my games for Everton,” Barkley told Chelsea’s official website last month.

“I’d see the likes of Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard banging the goals in every week.

“Lampard was one of my idols, because as a young midfielder I would see the goals he was scoring or creating every week and look up to him.

“I played with the manager later on in his career with England and you could see how motivated he was.”
