Over the years, Chelsea have always had players that bring magic to the team with their skills and creativity on the ball.

Former Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola was the Chelsea magician in the late 90s and early 2000s, and afterwards the Blues had the likes of Arjen Robben and Joe Cole.

Following their departure, the next magician to come on board was Eden Hazard who stole the hearts and minds of every Chelsea fan until he departed for Real Madrid during the summer.

Chelsea fans had been wondering who will take the mantle after Hazard’s departure as Callum Hudson-Odoi is still learning his trade and Christian Pulisic flattered to deceive in his first few months as a Chelsea player.

But, the 21-year-old Christian Pulisic has now overcome pressure and heavy expectancy placed on him to show that he can actually be the Chelsea dream fans dreamt of following Hazard’s departure. His performances against Newcastle and Ajax were jaw dropping as it helped the Blues get three crucial points in those games.

Chelsea legend Pat Nevin who was an exciting winger during his playing days for the Blues has revealed that Pulisic can the player to excite Chelsea fans and could become the prized asset in the Chelsea team.

“He is another player Chelsea fans can get rightly excited about,” Nevin wrote in his column for the official Chelsea website.

“In fact I will not be surprised if over time he becomes the prized asset in the side, he really does have that much ability.”

“Fortunately he seems to be the sort of guy who just wants to do it for the team,” Nevin went on.

“It doesn’t look or sound like an ego trip for him and I suspect that will go down extremely well with Frank Lampard.

“In a world where loud self-promotion and self-aggrandising is everywhere, isn’t it good to see that a nice quiet guy can get along just fine as well.”
