The Blues were reportedly interested in a move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha with several reports claiming Chelsea were weighing up a move for him when the transfer ban ends.
According to Daily Star, Chelsea have ended interest in signing Zaha.
The report claims the form of Chelsea youngsters have prompted the club to have a rethink on the idea of signing the Crystal Palace winger.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has given chances to Chelsea youngsters this season and the form of Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and also Christian Pulisic, who is pushing for a place in the starting XI, have convinced the club to end interest in Zaha.
After failing to get a transfer away from Crystal Palace, Zaha insists he is now focused on performing for Crystal Palace this season.
Zaha said: “I had to put my head down and play my football.
“I would have been hindering my own progress by moaning and not wanting to perform properly.
“I have too much respect for my manager, the fans and my team-mates to treat them that way. It was a thing where ‘OK, this hasn’t happened but I’ve got to get on with it’.
“I’ve got to prove every time that I’m the top player I claim to be so I had to get over that quickly. Obviously, my head was a bit all over the place at the beginning of the season but I had to nail down and just get on with it because the team deserved that.”
