Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack visited Chelsea boss Frank Lampard on the training ground as the Blues prepare to face Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
Ballack is the latest former team-mate of the Blues legend to return to Cobham as the midfielders were team-mates for four years, winning the Premier League together and the FA Cup during their time at the club.
The former Germany captain shared images of his visit to the Cobham training ground on social media – as he oversaw training and took in a meeting with Lampard and his technical adviser, Petr Cech.
Cech and the two midfielders shared the Stamford Bridge dressing room for four years, winning the 2009-10 Premier League title and reaching the Champions League final together.
Ballack is respected for his leadership qualities and remains a popular figure at Stamford Bridge after a four-year spell that saw him play passionately for the club – leading many fans to call for his appointment as a coach or director of football.
Ballack watched the Chelsea players in training and spoke to some of them afterwards.
