After the massive win against Ajax in the Champions League clash on Wednesday night, all attention must now return to this weekend’s clash against Burnley as the Blues will be seeking to make it seven straight wins in all competitions.
As Chelsea move higher up the table with each passing game, the Blues will now be away at the Turf Moor to face Burnley on Saturday evening.
Speaking to the media on Friday afternoon, Lampard ruled out five Chelsea players from the trip to Turf Moor.
Chelsea will be without Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N’Golo Kante, Antonio Rudiger, Ross Barkley and Andreas Christensen.
The Chelsea boss said: “Loftus-Cheek is well out, Rudiger and N’Golo [are both] not ready for the weekend. We need to get him [Kante] right now. Christensen and Barkley are both out as well.”
Speaking particularly about Rudiger, Lampard revealed that he could be out for up to two more weeks.
The Chelsea boss said: “Rudiger won’t be ready for the weekend, but he’s getting closer. He’s outside training with us.
“He had a bad injury. He didn’t play since April, played half a game against Wolves, so this is again a fallout from last season’s injury for us. Unfortunately, that’s the nature of it.
“Rudi’s close now, so he should hopefully be involved with us in the next week or two.”
