Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi was out injured since April after suffering an Achilles injury towards the end of last season.

The 18-year-old was a subject of multiple bids from German giants Bayern Munich last season, but Chelsea stood their ground and didn’t let go of the highly talented teenager.

Hudson-Odoi has now picked up from where he left off before his injury and it looks like he wasn’t away at all as his performances have been extraordinary.

Hudson-Odoi made his fifth appearance for Chelsea against Newcastle since coming back from a serious injury that kept him out for five months, and the 18-year-old impressed. He was our liveliest player and troubled Newcastle’s defence whenever he got the ball.

Hudson-Odoi got the assist for Marcos Alonso’s goal and former Leicester City, Tottenham and Barcelona striker and Match of the Day pundit Gary Lineker was quick to praise the youngster during the first half.

During the game, Lineker took to twitter to praise the performance of the young Chelsea winger.

“Goodness me Hudson-Odoi can play. Helluva talent,” posted the ex-England striker.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard admitted after the game that he was very pleased with Hudson-Odoi’s performance and has urged him to continue.

Lampard said: “Callum was really good, he had product on the wing, taking people on. He looked sharp, getting at people and was a big threat, and I am really pleased with that. The end product will come even more with Callum. He was giving Newcastle a big problem and he needs to carry on doing that.”
