Referee Michael Oliver awarded Chelsea a penalty after Callum Hudson-Odoi was brought down in the box before VAR overturned the penalty.

According to former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher, the decision to overturn the penalty and give Hudson-Odoi a yellow card was absolutely right.

“I agree with this. I think this is where the VAR has done fantastic over the weekend,” Gallagher told Sky Sports.

“Michael Oliver is in a good position but he sees it at speed. You can see here that he has thrown himself to the fall.

“Absolutely right and it’s a yellow card. And the penalty is disallowed.”
