Former Real Madrid winger Pedro Leon has claimed that former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho stopped him from joining Chelsea.

Leon joined Real Madrid from Getafe for £8.4 million in July 2010 and made just 14 appearances during his only season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He returned to Getafe on a two-year loan deal, which was eventually made permanent in 2013.

According to Leon, he had the chance to join Chelsea in January 2011 but Mourinho, then Real Madrid boss, refused to let him leave for Chelsea.

“I had offers from Manchester City, Chelsea and Milan,” Leon told Onda Cero.

“Some wanted to sign me in the winter but Mourinho didn’t let me go.”
