Chelsea boss Frank Lampard won’t be happy with the international break after four Chelsea players suffered injuries while away on international duty.

Andreas Christensen, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Reece James all picked up injuries while away on international duty.

Christensen suffered a groin problem in Denmark’s win over Switzerland, Kante pulled out of France’s game with Iceland with a hamstring issue, Mateo Kovacic was withdrawn at halftime after picking a knock in Croatia’s draw with Wales following a challenge from Tottenham’s Ben Davies while James pulled out from England U21 squad last week following an injury scare.

To make matters worse, the Blues are already without injured duo Antonio Rudiger and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The injuries couldn’t have come at a worse time for Lampard as the Blues head into a congested fixture list over the next 21 days.

The Blues face Newcastle at Stamford Bridge this Saturday before playing four more games in the space of a fortnight.
