Chelsea beat Newcastle United 1-0 on Saturday at Stamford Bridge but it was a win the Blues were made to work hard for.

The victory over Newcastle United means Frank Lampard’s Chelsea have won five consecutive games in all competitions. Who would have thought the Blues would have achieved this after the 4-0 loss to Manchester United in our season opener?

This is the first time Lampard is winning five consecutive games in his managerial career. His previous best was four consecutive games which he achieved early in his reign as Derby boss.

Lampard will be hoping to make it six consecutive wins in all competitions when the Blues play Ajax away in Holland on Wednesday in the Champions League.
