Chelsea beat Lille 2-1 on Wednesday night in France to get our Champions League campaign up and running after losing 1-0 to Valencia at Stamford Bridge.

Tammy Abraham opened the scoring after 22 minutes before Victor Osimhen scored from a corner-kick to equalise for Lille. Willian then scored the winner for Chelsea.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has admitted his team have a problem defending set-pieces but insists he would continue to work on it in the training ground.

“They were quick on the counterattack and our performance was really good,” Lampard said.

“Set pieces are a problem for us, we have to keep working on them even more.

“But we deserved to win.”

Valencia’s winner against Chelsea was also from a set-piece.
