Olivier Giroud might not be playing for Chelsea, but his form for France under Didier Deschamps has been very impressive.
Giroud came off the bench to score his 38th international goal as France were held 1-1 by Turkey in Paris.
With France dominating but failing to score against Turkey, Giroud came on in the 72nd minute and scored four minutes later to give France a deserved lead.
Giroud has now scored the third most goals for France and has admitted his Chelsea frustration due to a lack of playing time.
Giroud scored with his first touch and according to he said afterwards according to Get French Football News: “Antoine (Griezmann) hits the corner sweetly, I had to be in the right place and right time. It was a fiery header.”
The Chelsea striker was also asked: Are you going to send videos of your goals to Frank Lampard?
He responded: “No, no. He will almost certainly watch the matches. In any case, I am going back to Chelsea pumped up.”
