Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri has resumed full training as he has now recovered from the thigh injury that has kept him out for close to a month.
The 25-year-old sustained a thigh injury while on international duty with Italy back in September and quickly made a return to the team for Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, only to suffer another setback in the first half of the game.
Emerson hasn’t featured for Chelsea since the defeat to Liverpool, but he’s now back fit and training with the rest of the team.
The Italy international took to Twitter to announce that he’s fit and training with his teammates.
“Good to be back training with the lads!” Emerson posted on his twitter page.
Emerson had been Chelsea’s first choice left-back this season until he got caught up with injury, but he’d now have to battle Marcos Alonso who has been very impressive in his absence.
Alonso showed how good he can be as he registered yet another assist vs Southampton after his pass to N’Golo Kante for the Blues’ third goal in our last game before the international break.
Has Alonso done enough to keep his shirt, or should Emerson take back his place in the starting lineup?
