Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard has revealed that he talked to former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois before making his move to Real Madrid.

Every Chelsea fan knows that Hazard played his heart out for the club, for which he’s still respected till date, but the Blues fans will never forgive Courtois for quickly forcing a move to Real Madrid after a short time that saw him leave the club despite taking the shirt of club legend Petr Cech and also for the manner he left the club. Courtois was always talking about Real Madrid and Spain in a way that annoyed the Chelsea fans.

Hazard has now revealed that Courtois convinced him to make the move to Real Madrid and also Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.

He told Real Madrid TV: “My dream was always to play for Real Madrid, the greatest team in the world, and so far I’m happy.

“I also spoke to Modric and got the impression that they all wanted to see me at Real Madrid and it finally happened.”

Despite losing Hazard and not having the option to sign a replacement, Chelsea are doing very well at the moment, and Blues boss Frank Lampard has revealed how he managed to get the team on board despite the loss of a star player.

“I felt we have options and people talk about transition and obviously there is a transition when you lose a player as impactful as Eden,” said Lampard.

“He scored or created nearly 50 percent of our goals last year so you have to accept that and look for where else in our team can we come up with that sort of end product and we do have the players to do it.

“We have attacking players that want to score goals, a team that want to move the ball quickly, we want to get the ball into wide areas, sometimes we won’t be able to play through teams so as a collective one and at the minute we are scoring goals so we have to continue in that vein.

“Everyone wants an Eden Hazard in the team, don’t get me wrong but we haven’t [got one] and it was what was in front of me and we have got good players and it was important we try and be an attacking force.”
