With Alexis Sanchez set to be on the sidelines until next year after picking up an injury while on international duty with Chile, Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is keen on returning to Stamford Bridge to sign a replacement.
According to FC Inter News, Conte is interested in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud when the transfer window opens in January.
Giroud has barely played for Chelsea this season due to the emergence of Tammy Abraham.
Giroud, who scored in his last two appearances for France during the international break, recently revealed his situation at Chelsea needs to change or he could leave.
Giroud is reportedly happy to leave Stamford Bridge for Inter Milan and wants a two-and-a-half year contract.
It is believed Giroud’s €8m/year wages could make potential negotiations ‘difficult’.
