Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is impressing beyond recognition as he’s pushing above targets that have been set for him.
In just his second year as a manager, Lampard is leading his young Chelsea side beyond the expectations of many, and the Chelsea team got a surprise victory at the Johan Cruyff ArenA, and former Chelsea star Joe Cole has hailed it as the biggest win of Lampard’s career as a manager.
“It was a top class performance and certainly Frank’s best performance since he went over,” BT Sport pundit Cole said.
“From being in and around the club it just feels right, Players who may have felt pushed aside or unsure of their future, they are now producing big moments for the club and it is credit to Frank and his staff. It is really looking good at Chelsea.”
Chelsea have won their last six games on a bounce, and Cole believes that the Chelsea team just keeps getting better and better with each passing game.
“As players you want to know what is expected and what your role is,” he added.
“It seems that every game they play they get better and better. For a team like Ajax, not many teams go there, control possession and keep the ball as well as [Chelsea] did.
“They were excellent tonight.”
