Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is doing very well in his second season at the club and has won the hearts of the Chelsea supporters with his fine displays in the middle of the park.
Jorginho scored a penalty during Italy’s 2-0 win over Greece on Saturday, a win which confirmed their place at next year’s European Championship finals.
Speaking to Radio Sportiva after Italy’s win, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos suggested that the midfielder could be open to an exit as he said:
“I think Jorginho can do very well at the Euros and, why not, also at the next World Cup. As for a return to Serie A, anything is possible, and he will always feel the desire to come back home.”
Joao Santos has now clarified his statement and insists that the midfielder is not in a hurry to leave Stamford Bridge.
“He arrived in Italy at fifteen, plays in England but his heart is Italian,” he told TuttoMercato.
“At Chelsea he’s doing very well, he’s an important player for the team, a second captain.
“When a team gives this great confidence to a player, it’s because they plan the future together with him.
“Not immediately, but he will return to Italy in the future.
“If there was the possibility, he would take it into consideration, but not immediately.”
