Chelsea have won seven straight games in all competitions, and the Blues have managed to turn around a lethargic start to the season that saw an embarrassing defeat to Manchester United as well as some other performances where Chelsea dropped needless points.
One player who has been outstanding for Chelsea this season is Jorginho as the Italy international has been a key player in the middle of the park for Chelsea.
Jorginho was signed by Maurizio Sarri last season, but he failed to impress under the Italian and was even booed by Chelsea fans. However, he has looked by far better this season under the guidance of Frank Lampard.
Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier believes Lampard has managed to get more out of the midfielder than Sarri could, as he hailed Jorginho for his performance this season.
“Yeah [Jorginho] seems to have done [benefited from Lampard’s arrival],” Le Tissier said on Soccer Saturday.
“He does look like a completely different player.
“He got a lot of stick off the crowd last season and I think it was maybe because of the association with the previous manager, they were looking at criticising the manager and using one of the manager’s players, he was the one he wanted everything to go through.
“So I think he’s benefited from the change in manager big style.”
