Christian Pulisic has been hailed for his performance in the 4-2 win over Burnley at the Turf Moor on Saturday evening.
Pulisic bagged a hat-trick in that game and was the star of the game as Chelsea were just too good for the home side.
While Pulisic might be receiving all the plaudits for his showing against Sean Dyche’s side, the Chelsea manager has looked at the performances of both Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic who also did well against Burnley.
Jorginho and Kovacic have become central figures in the Chelsea midfield, especially in the absence of N’Golo Kante, and Jorginho has started all 10 Premier League games and all three Champions League games this season.
Lampard said of the duo: “Some of the play, some of the football, I’m sure we’ll talk about Christian [Pulisic], but [Mateo] Kovacic and Jorginho in midfield, their confidence on the ball, receiving the ball with pressure coming, the way they played.
“I’m delighted with 95% and that’s enough for me, I’m really pleased.”
Despite conceding two late goals in Chelsea’s 4-2 victory over Burnley, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard insists he won’t criticise his players because they won comfortably in a really tough ground.
Lampard said, according to BBC: “I will be the first to criticise sloppy goals, and they were.
“But not tonight because of the way they played, their movement on the ball, there were so many great things to admire.
“I’m not letting that in the dressing room tonight, we came to a really tough place and won comfortably.”
