Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has bemoaned his lack of playing time since coming to Chelsea as he has now lost his place in Frank Lampard’s starting eleven.
The 21-year-old has had a difficult spell with the Blues in the past six weeks, playing just 10 minutes of Premier League football since the end of August and only getting a start in the Carabao Cup.
The American has lasted 90 minutes just twice this season and has lost his place in the Chelsea team since last starting in the 2-2 draw against Sheffield United.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is always being faced with the Pulisic question before each match, and speaking ahead of the Newcastle clash, Lampard has now revealed four things Pulisic must do to get back into the squad.
Lampard has advised Pulisic to work hard in training, improve in training and also show what he can do on the pitch.
Lampard said: “Christian, as with every player in the squad, needs to work hard in training, keep improving in training, see the direction we’re going, be a part of it, and show what you can do on a match day, and all the players are the same there.
“It is [easy to forget his age]. You can look beyond that because he came through at a very young age at Dortmund and huge credit to him for that. It’s amazing to come through that. He was playing at a top level team at Dortmund.”
