The 1-0 victory over Newcastle on Saturday at Stamford Bridge was Chelsea’s fifth win in a row in all competitions.

Ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League game against Ajax, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard admits the winning run has brought confidence to the team but he insists he expects a tough game against Ajax.

“A really tough match against a team that we know how they performed last year and how they’ve started this group, winning both games comfortably,” Lampard said.

“So it’s going to be a tough match, I don’t think the five wins mean anything other than that hopefully we have some confidence.

“But this will be a completely different challenge which we obviously need to be ready for.”
