Chelsea have an important Champions League group H tie against Ajax this evening and the Blues will be hoping to continue their rich vein of form against the Netherlands giants.

Ajax top the group having won their opening two Champions League games, and Frank Lampard’s side are currently third in the group with Napoli second.

With Chelsea going away to the Johan Cruyff Arena, Blues boss Frank Lampard has revealed that he’s targeting getting the three points away at the ground of the group leaders to get level on them in points.

“It is a hugely important game for us if we have aspirations to win the group,” Lampard responds to a question asked by a Chelsea fan in Q&A session with the club fans.

“It is a tough place to go, to go there to win but if we do it will take us level on points with Ajax and we will go from there because that is what we want.”

Meanwhile, ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League game against Ajax, Lampard rejected a claim from a Dutch journalist that Chelsea were “scared” of Ajax.

“What makes you say that?” asked Lampard.

“You look scared,” replied the journalist

“That is just my face,” said Lampard. “I respect the team, on a serious note. We saw the way this team played last year, and I know that the team has changed slightly, I am very aware of the new threats of the team and anywhere to travel in the Champions League is a difficult match.

“They have won two games in the group convincingly, so definitely it is not a fact of being scared of Ajax. We have confidence in ourselves.”
