Chelsea are a team in form as the Blues have now won five games in a row in all competitions.
Frank Lampard seems to be steering the club in the right direction as Chelsea sit in fourth place just after the win against Newcastle and two points behind Manchester City in second.
Although Chelsea rode to a third consecutive league win, it wasn’t an easy game for Frank Lampard’s side as the Blues had to labour hard for a win at Stamford Bridge against a stubborn Newcastle defence.
In his press conference, the Chelsea boss admitted that he was worried the impact the international break will have on his side and he has now warned his players to take nothing for granted because every game in the Premier League is tough.
“If there was a worry it was that the international break might have cut out momentum and we’d forget the good thing we were doing to get those results,” Lampard said as cited by Goal.
“But particularly in the second half, you saw a spirit and energy in the team.
“Every game now we need to go back to basics and keep trying to pick up those wins because it’s a tough league; when you see the results around you realise how tough it is.
“You take nothing for granted. Today it was tough, we had a bit of a problem and we solved it with the way we played in the second half.”
