France head coach Didier Deschamps revealed after France’s 1-1 draw with Turkey on Monday night that Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is suffering in his situation at the club.
Giroud came off the bench to score in France’s 1-1 draw with Turkey and it was his third goal for France in four matches.
Despite his good form for world champions France, Giroud has struggled to get game time at Chelsea due to the emergence of Tammy Abraham.
Deschamps wants to see Giroud playing more minutes for Chelsea and hinted he may have to ply his trade elsewhere.
“You know, Olivier suffers his situation. Before January, nothing will move,” Deschamps told a press conference.
“After, it will be up to him to see. I hope he will have more playing time.
“But we cannot take away his goals, his good performances. He scores, he makes others play well.
“He knows he is under pressure, but he always responds.”
