With Eden Hazard leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid this summer and the Blues unable to sign new players, expectations were lowered this season as Chelsea boss Frank Lampard put faith in Chelsea youngsters.

It was a tough start to the season for the Blues with Chelsea losing 4-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford but the Blues have since improved with Chelsea now fifth on the table, just two points below second placed Manchester City.

Former Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet has urged Chelsea boss Frank Lampard to aim for a top four finish this season.

“I thought they should aim for the top six at the start of the season,” Poyet told Goal.

“Looking at the league now, they should aim for the top four. I have no doubts about that.”
